Asake’s performance on September 21 was part of his ongoing ‘Lungu Boy World Tour,’ which kicked off in Portugal and will conclude in Australia on October 6. His sold-out success places him alongside fellow Nigerian stars like Wizkid and Davido, who have also headlined multiple sold-out shows at the O2 Arena.

British actor Idris Elba honored Asake during the event, presenting him with a sold-out plaque and a BRIT silver plaque for his 2023 album Work of Art. The show featured a dramatic entrance by helicopter and included performances of fan favorites like “Olorun,” “Omo Ope,” and “Amapiano.”

Since his breakout in 2020 with the hit song “Lady” and his signing with YBNL Nation in 2022, Asake has continued to soar, earning numerous awards and a Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance for his track “Amapiano” with Olamide.

In 2023, he also won the music category at the Future Awards.
