The confirmation of his release came from Adamu Duza, the spokesperson for the FCT Command of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), on Friday evening.

“He [Yahaya Bello] has been released after meeting the bail conditions. He was released this [Friday] evening,” Duza said, providing the much-awaited update.

The release followed a period of detention as part of legal proceedings connected to Bello’s time in office as governor.

The Controller of NCoS FCT, Ajibogun Olatubosun, was present to ensure that Bello’s release was carried out smoothly and that all protocols were observed.

The NCoS official oversight was aimed at ensuring the proper fulfillment of legal requirements during the release process.

Bello’s release follows a tense period of legal battles, with the former governor facing various charges linked to his time in office.

The bail conditions imposed by the FCT High Court allowed him to regain his freedom, pending the ongoing legal proceedings.

The development marks a significant turn in the case, with many now awaiting further court hearings.

The release also highlights the ongoing scrutiny of public officials in Nigeria as the legal system continues to address issues of governance and accountability.

As of now, Yahaya Bello’s legal team and supporters are expected to follow up with the necessary legal steps in the coming weeks, as the case progresses through the courts.
