Expelled Unizik Student Gets Lifeline As Uk-Based Nigerian Woman Offers Scholarship Help

A UK-based Nigerian woman, Mkpouto Pius, has pledged to assist the expelled UNIZIK student in securing a scholarship abroad. She made this revelation following the emergence of a new video that shed light on the incident between the student and a university lecturer....CONTINUE READING>>>

Lady Offers Support to Expelled UNIZIK Student

Mkpouto Pius took to social media to share her support for the student, emphasizing that contrary to public perception, the young woman is not devastated by the expulsion. Instead, she remains strong, with the unwavering backing of her family.

According to Pius, she reached out to the student and offered to help her find scholarship opportunities abroad. The student, in response, decided to consult her parents before making a decision. Shortly after, she confirmed that her parents were on board with the idea.

UNIZIK’s Response and Allegations of Harassment

Pius further alleged that the university has been reaching out to the student’s family, urging her to apologize publicly so that her suspension could be revoked. She found this move questionable, stating that the university’s actions suggest an attempt to protect the lecturer involved.

She expressed disbelief at the demand for an apology, asserting that the lecturer was the one who initiated physical contact.

Her statement read:

“Follow social media noise at your own risk. As people are here shouting about how Unizik did a good thing to expel that female student, and how she embarrassed her family…

I spoke to the lady and …

  1. The back story is so different from the tiny clip circulating on social media.
  2. The girl is not breaking down and dying. She’s very fine.
  3. Her family is solidly behind her.

When I offered to support her to find scholarship abroad, her response was ‘let me speak to my parents.’

… and a few minutes after, she came back to tell me her parents are onboard with the idea.

  1. The University has been calling her parents, asking her to come and apologize, and they will rescind the suspension and take her back.

Nigerians are such dramatic people.

The University knows that their lecturer harassed that girl, that’s why they are trying so hard to save face.

They are insisting that all she needs to do is release a public video apologizing, and they will take her back.

Apologize for what?

He should be the one apologizing for touching her first.

Her parents are not having it. They’ve said she will not apologize …

… and the University is saying her friend can do it on her behalf.

… they just want a public apology so that it can seem like she acknowledged her wrong and they took her back.

This would be the perfect opportunity to lawyer up and sue that damn school!

Because that school definitely knows they have messed up for supporting harassment of a student captured on tape.

Go to court and let’s argue self-defense and see if that lecturer would ever win that case.”

Calls for Legal Action

Pius suggested that instead of seeking reconciliation, the student should consider taking legal action against the university. She believes that the institution’s stance on the issue reveals its awareness of potential wrongdoing and an attempt to control public perception.

The case continues to spark discussions online, with many debating whether the university acted justly in its decision to expel the student. Meanwhile, the student now has an opportunity to pursue education abroad, thanks to the support of Pius and her family.
