Grammy winners to get Bulova watches with names engraved

A special Bulova watch awaits each winner at the 64th Grammy Awards on Sunday night at the at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas....CONTINUE READING>>>

The watch will be engraved with the artist’s name and Grammy category.

The Bulova watch is of course apart from the iconic gramophone statue of Grammys.

Music’s biggest night is taking place today after being postponed a few months due to Omicron.

The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah will return to host the ceremony for the second consecutive year.

The Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony, which takes place ahead of the big show, will stream live on Grammy.com and the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel.

Nominees from Nigeria are Wizkid, Tems, Burna Boy, Femi Kuti and Made Kuti.

They were nominated for Awards in the Global Music Album and Global Music Performance categories.

Wizkid was nominated in the ‘Best Global Music Performance’ category for ‘Essence’, his collaborative song with Tems.

In July, ‘Essence’ became the first Nigerian song to crack the highly coveted music chart and the third in Africa.

Also nominated in the category is ‘Pa Pa Pa’ by Femi Kuti.

Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’ album and ‘Legacy +’ by Femi and Made Kuti were put up in the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category.

Other Africans like Angelique Kidjo got two Grammy nods: one alongside Burna Boy in the Best Global Music Performance and another for Mother Nature, her 2021 album.

SCNSLY by Black Coffee also got a nod for Best Dance Album.

Other nominees include Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo, BTS, Kanye West, Jon Batiste, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Coldplay, Brothers Osborne, Lil Nas X, Taylor Swift, H.E.R., Kacey Musgraves, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Baby Keem, Kendrick Lamar, Brandi Carlile, Silk Sonic, Jazmine Sullivan, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga.

BTS, Rodrigo, Eilish, Brothers Osbourne, Carlile and Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow are all announced to perform.
