Speaking on the Talk to B podcast with actress Biola Bayo, Apa credited fellow actor Ibrahim Chatta for preventing him from giving up on his acting career.

“Big shoutout to Ibrahim Chatta. I would have left Nollywood if not for him,” he revealed.

Recalling a difficult period in his career, Apa spoke about an incident where a director—whom he had never worked with but who had only heard of him—threatened to make things tough for him. This led to an overwhelming and toxic work environment that left him deeply discouraged.

“I became emotional and started crying,” he admitted. “Ibrahim Chatta has seen me crying two to three times and always asked what happened. Each time I told him I wanted to leave the industry, he would advise and encourage me instead.”

According to Apa, he had walked away from filmmaking on three separate occasions, but Chatta consistently pulled him back, offering him roles in his projects to ensure he remained in the industry.
