In a recent interview with journalists in Abuja, Ikechukwu praised Tinubu for holding ministers accountable through his exercise of executive powers, calling it a significant achievement. He emphasized the importance of using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure transparency and accountability within the government.

Ikechukwu argued that the President’s resignation from the petroleum portfolio is crucial for addressing issues within the oil sector and to allow the Coordinating Policy Unit, led by Hadiza Bala Usman, to operate effectively without the conflict of overseeing her own principal. He warned against the pitfalls of state capture that have historically plagued the oil ministry, hindering the operation of Nigeria’s refineries and contributing to economic challenges.

He reiterated that relinquishing the role would not only help restore faith in democracy but also assist the President in achieving a successful re-election in 2027 without controversy.
