Lawyer Laments: ‘I’ve Used All My Connections, but No One Wants to Help Speed Darlington’

Alieke also addressed criticisms from Nigerians who believe that Darlington deserves his predicament due to his past reputation for attacking others.

“Yesterday marked 31 days in detention. Some people say, ‘Stop the emotional blackmail, advise your client.’ Let’s move past that—these arguments are irrelevant; this could happen to anyone,” Alieke stated.

He also shared his disappointment about the lack of support from influential individuals, contrasting it with a previous instance when Burna Boy intervened to assist Darlington.

“I’ve used all my connections; no one wants to help Speed Darlington. The first time he was arrested, Burna Boy and his team stepped in, giving bundles of cash to the police officers,” he added.

This prolonged detention raises concerns about the enforcement of legal rights and the obstacles individuals face in seeking justice.
