May Yul-Edochie'S Lawyer Provides Update On Divorce Case, Court Adjourns Until March

May Yul-Edochie’s legal counsel, Emeka Ugwuonye, has provided an update on the ongoing divorce case between May Yul-Edochie and her estranged husband, actor Yul Edochie. In a post shared on his Facebook page, Ugwuonye detailed the developments from the court hearing that took place on February 4....CONTINUE READING>>>

He explained that the case involved a review of the report from a compulsory conference, which had been mandated by the court. A compulsory conference is a procedure under Nigerian family law, where the couple, along with their lawyers, meet to attempt resolving some or all of the disputed issues before the court. If an agreement is reached during the conference, it is reported to the court. If no agreement is made, the court may ask the parties to hold further discussions.

During the latest court session, both parties informed the court that they were still in the process of deliberating. As a result, the case was adjourned until March. Ugwuonye clarified that the court had granted more time for the parties to hold another virtual conference to resolve any outstanding issues. At the next hearing, the court expects to either receive the finalized conference report or be informed that no agreement was reached. This will guide the next steps in the trial.

Ugwuonye also highlighted that Judy Austin, Yul’s alleged partner, was involved in the case due to accusations of adultery with Yul and her false claims of being married to him despite his marital status.

The lawyer concluded the post by emphasizing that this update is an objective summary and not intended to reflect the views of either party involved.
