He narrated this in an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo on his podcast “With Chude”.

Ilerioluwa Oladimeji also known as Mohbad had some squabbles with his former record label, Marlian Music, owned by Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley. He eventually parted ways in November 2022.

In his defense, Bella Shmurda had called out Naira Marley and tweeted that a record label is supposed to be a family, not an enemy. He added that Mohbad was doing well before he became a member of Marlian Music.

According to him, he was aware of Mohbad’s issue with his record label. He went on to say that it was so awful that the singer considered committing suicide by jumping off his stairway. His girlfriend’s prompt intervention saved him from dying.

“Mohbad is my bro, and before I spoke out, I had been in this thing. Though it was low-key. I saw what happened, even from the first time till this second time. I have always been in the loop of things, but at that point, someone had to speak for him.

“I don’t have to say this, but I’ll say this. At a point, me and Mohbad were in an apartment and Mohbad was like he wants to jump from upstairs because of this label issue (with Marlian Records).

“We go hold this boy for the window, Mohbad don almost jump, and his girlfriend just entered the room and saw Mohbad sit down for the window because of all these things.

“You can’t just keep going downhill while these people form; there’s nothing happening; something is happening. Something wey fit make you think say you wan take your own life. It’s going to the extreme.

“Now e go happen you go dey write RIP, and we loved him. No. There’s no love there, and none of them will speak up. They dey inside that place, none of them wan look anybody eye. Me I no dey under anybody. If you face me, I face you.”
