Naira Marley joins the NDLEA in their campaign against drug and substance abuse.

Naira Marley, the artist behind Nigerian pop songs like Soapy and Mafo has once again been making headlines. The famous artist has been announced as the latest Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) ambassador for their War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) advocacy campaign.

Born, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, Naira Marley has been involved in skirmishes with Nigerian government agencies in the past. After the release of his 2019 hit song, ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy he was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on the same day. A few days after he was released from prison, he released his hit song Soapy which talked about the sexual habits of inmates.

However, the 17th of August 2023 sees Naira Marley on the right side of the law. The chairman of the NDLEA hosted the artiste as he comes to pledge his support for the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) advocacy campaign.

This development has been announced by the spokesperson of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on his X profile page. The NDLEA official page on X also posted this announcement. 

The organisation revealed that Naira Marley will soon release a new song that will further the WADA campaign. The artist also made a video urging his fans and Nigerians, in general, to desist from drug abuse and substance abuse.
