Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the rapper expressed frustration over the artificial inflation of streaming numbers, stating that the manipulation is not translating into real-life success for artists in terms of shows, bookings, or ticket sales.

“There’s a high level of stream farming going on in the Nigerian music industry. Farming is crazy cause it’s not translating into shows. It’s not translating into bookings and ticket sales home and abroad. So, what’s the point?” he wrote.

Odumodublvck is not the first to voice concerns about the alleged practice. Fellow rapper Blaqbonez has also repeatedly claimed that some Nigerian artists are boosting their numbers through artificial means, particularly on the Apple Music Nigeria charts.

However, music executive Don Jazzy dismissed the existence of “streaming farms” in a 2023 interview, insisting that no such technology is in use. Despite his stance, debates and allegations surrounding stream manipulation continue to surface within the industry, with artists and observers questioning the legitimacy of certain chart rankings and digital success.
