Olamide throws a grand listening party for his ‘Unruly’ album in Lagos

In honour of his album’s release, Olamide hosted the elite of the Nigerian music industry to a listening party. In a colourful, dazzling display of musical prowess and a celebration of a prolific career, Nigerian rap icon Olamide, gave the attendees of the listening party a fantastic show to remember. 

Born, Olamide Adedeji,  Olamide, has established himself as a trailblazer in the Nigerian music landscape since the release of his hit single Eni Duro. From his humble beginnings, he has risen to become one of Africa’s most celebrated musicians, known for his exceptional blend of Yoruba lyrics, Afrobeat rhythms, and contemporary rap influences. 

His previous albums, each a chapter in his artistic evolution, have earned him numerous accolades and a dedicated fan base. From his debut album Rapsodi to subsequent releases like YBNL, Baddest Guy Ever Liveth, and Eyan Mayweather, Olamide’s musical journey has been punctuated by critical acclaim and commercial success. 

He has seamlessly navigated various genres and styles, displaying his versatility and deep connection with his audience. On his tenth studio album, Olamide doesn’t look to slow down in experimenting with his sound and what he can achieve with it.

At the Unruly listening party, attendees were treated to an exclusive performance of the album’s tracks. Videos from the listening party showed the amazing set, the performers had to work with. To stay true to the sound on the album, Olamide even brought up a choir in order to deliver great sounds and create the right atmosphere.

 The event was a visual and auditory feast, with captivating visuals, and electrifying performances.

In attendance at the event were several of the top faces and names in the Nigerian music entertainment Industry. Don Jazzy, Lai Wasabi, Fireboy DML, and many more stars attended the listening party. Attendees were treated to tracks from Olamide’s earlier eras as well as his new one.

All in all, the listening party was a great success. Later in the day, it was revealed that the album had broken the record for being the highest-ranking album by an African rapper on the Apple Music US charts.
