Plateau Governor Announces Free Transportation for Indigenes During Christmas Celebration

The free transport service, announced on Monday, December 23, aims to ease the burden of economic challenges across the country, according to Plateau State’s Commissioner for Transport, Davou Gyang.

The service, which begins on December 23, will cover both intra-local government travel within the state’s 17 local government areas and inter-state travel. Gyang explained that all Metro Bus rides within the Jos-Bukuru metropolis will be free from December 23 to 24, with additional routes beyond the usual ones.

Furthermore, a return trip service for inter-local government and inter-state travelers will be available from January 4-5, 2025. Passengers from the North-East states (Bauchi, Borno, and Adamawa) and the North-West (Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, and Jigawa) will have travel routes from their state capitals to Jos.
