Ten honorees for the JCI TOYP award

Popular online comedian, Greene Maryam aka Taooma and Barcelona footballer, Asisat Oshoala among others have been nominated to receive the Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Nigeria for 2021.

The Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award (TOYP) is an annual award organized by the Junior Chamber International (JCI).

JCI’s TOYP award recognizes Nigerian youths between 18-40 years old who have distinguished themselves in advancing the cause of human and global development.

The 2021 edition of the TOYP Award process commenced in January 2020 with nominations of over 1000 industrious young Nigerians received.

Many Nigerian youths including entrepreneurs, renowned professionals and captains of industries were nominated across different sectors of the Nigerian economy and screened.

UHY Maaji, an audit firm also coordinated a nationwide voting process for the nominees to determine the ten honorees for the award.

Apart from the football star Asizat Oshola and comedian Taaooma, other awardees are Shola Akinlade (Co-founder and CEO, Paystack), Olalekan Sipasi (Co-Founder, a project Ozone), Dr. Alexander Ezenagu (Assistant Professor, College of Law, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar), Olivia Onyeamobi (Founder, Pad Up Creations), Omotola Fawunmi (Founder, Stretch Center), Gideon Olanrewaju (Founder, Areai), Hamzat Bala Lawal (Anti-corruption activist and Founder, Follow the Money), and Abiodun Adereni (Founder and CEO, Help Mum).

The ten honorees would be presented their awards during the JCIN International Youth Day at the Daylan Events Centre, Eleyele, Ibadan on Thursday, 12th of August, 2021.
