TG Omori Gives Health Update

Nigerian music director and cinematographer, ThankGod Omori Smith, widely known as TG Omori, has shared an update on his health, assuring fans of his return in 2025 after a challenging period.

Recently, TG Omori revealed that he underwent a kidney transplant after his only brother donated a kidney to him. Unfortunately, the procedure, which took place on August 26 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos, was unsuccessful. Despite this, TG Omori remains hopeful and determined to recover, stating that he is currently on the mend.

On August 30, he shared his resolve to fight through his health struggles, posting a message on social media about the power of the mind in overcoming adversity. “It’s mind over matter. If the mind is defeated, it’s only a matter of time before the body falls,” he wrote. In another tweet, he added, “Pain has no power over me,” reassuring fans that he would make a full comeback by 2025.

His absence from the public eye in recent months had sparked concern among fans, especially as he continues to battle kidney disease. In April, TG Omori made headlines when he announced that he had quit smoking, following the footsteps of other Nigerian celebrities like Kizz Daniel and Tonto Dikeh. He expressed his commitment to the decision via social media, stating, “Quit smoking today.”

Last month, Omori took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to ask for prayers, humorously reflecting on his past habits with marijuana. In 2022, TG Omori had also shared that he had been hospitalized for much of the year due to consuming fake drinks, which caused serious health complications. Several other celebrities, including Timaya and BNXN, have spoken out against Lagos clubs for selling counterfeit alcohol.

TG Omori, born in Cross River State and raised in the Agungi area of Lagos, began his career at the age of 20 after graduating from PEFTI Film Institute.

He has since directed music videos for top Nigerian artists such as Wizkid, Burna Boy, Olamide, Kizz Daniel, and Asake, among others. Despite his current health struggles, his influence on the Nigerian music industry remains strong.
