The Consequences of Ignoring God’s Command to Resign from a Banking Job – Daniel Olukoya
Dr. Daniel Olukoya, the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM), recently shared a story during a sermon delivered at their Revival Hour Program....CONTINUE READING>>>
He spoke about a man who resisted God’s call to step out of his comfort zone, which ultimately led to a life-changing consequence.
The man, who was working in a bank, had been serving in the church as a Sunday school superintendent and believed his current level of involvement was sufficient.
According to Olukoya, one day God spoke to the man, instructing him to resign from his job and work full-time for Him. However, the man refused, explaining that he did not want to depend on others, especially church members, for his livelihood.
He was content with his position and did not feel the need to step out of his comfort zone. God remained silent, allowing the man to continue in his way.
But fate took a dramatic turn. While traveling by train to a place called Doo, the man fell off the train and tragically had one of his hands crushed. The injury was severe, and doctors had to amputate the hand. In the hospital, as the man lay in bed, the Holy Spirit spoke again: “Son, are you ready to preach now, or should I cut off the second one?” This powerful encounter led the man to finally surrender to God’s will.
He began preaching with one hand, a humbling reminder that God sometimes uses drastic measures to guide His followers out of their comfort zones.
Olukoya emphasized that the man’s reluctance to obey God’s call was a lesson for all believers about the importance of stepping out in faith and embracing God’s plan, even when it challenges our comfort zones.
