VeryDarkMan Responds to Allegations of Threatening Wike
Social media critic Martins Ortse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has refuted allegations of threatening Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), over the revocation of a plot of land owned by the family of late Colonel Paul Osakpamwan Ogbebor....CONTINUE READING>>>
The allegations arose following a viral video accusing Wike of revoking the property allocated to the Ogbebor family in 1981. A subsequent WhatsApp broadcast claimed VDM had issued threats against the minister.
Responding via Instagram, VDM clarified his stance, emphasizing his nonviolent approach and advocacy for justice. “I did not threaten Nyesom Wike’s life. I have no connection to the WhatsApp broadcast being circulated,” he said.
VDM explained that his original video, which appealed to the minister to reconsider the family’s land documents, was edited to misrepresent his intentions. “Someone altered my video with a misleading caption to make it seem like I issued threats. That’s not in my character or nature,” he stated.
Highlighting the late Colonel Ogbebor’s legacy as a war veteran and the first cadet of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) with code 001, VDM reiterated the family’s rightful claim to the land and urged the minister to review the documents.
The family of Colonel Ogbebor has also maintained the legitimacy of their ownership, intensifying public scrutiny of the case. VDM reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the oppressed, stating, “My platform is for justice, not violence.”
