Angelique Kidjo feat Davido titled “Joy” (STREAM)

Angelique Kidjo, the Grammy-winning Beninese singer has released a new single titled “Joy,” featuring Nigerian superstar Davido.

After teasing the song for weeks, Kidjo unveiled the new song on Friday.

“Happy JOY DAY!! I’m so happy to share this new song with you, this one is special and we had so much fun recording it with @davido : thank you my friend for bringing your special energy! ❤️ It’s time to FEEL THE JOY! ,”  she wrote.

Kidjo and Davido crooned about finding positivity and resilience even in the face of adversity in the song.

“I found the joy through all the pain, I found the sun through all the rain, I found the power of a brand new day,” the lyrics read.

‘Joy’ marks the second collaboration between Kidjo and Davido.  It follows the success of their 2023 track ‘Na Money’, which also featured The Cavemen, off Davido’s fourth studio album, ‘Timeless’.

Kidjo is known for her diverse musical influences and creative music videos. She has won five Grammy Awards and is also the 2023 Polar Music Prize laureate.

The 64-year-old is regarded as one of the greatest singers in Africa. Aside from her incredible music career, Kidjo is an actress and activist.
