Highlighting the company’s contributions to the state’s heritage and excellence, Governor Eno stated, “Champion is the drink for our people, offering diverse options such as Champion Lager Beer, Champ Malt, and other innovative flavors. Just as Ibom Air represents Akwa Ibom’s pride in aviation, Champion Breweries symbolizes our excellence in brewing. These beverages will now be served on Ibom Air flights.”

The governor emphasized the importance of supporting home-grown industries, celebrating Champion Breweries as a product that showcases Akwa Ibom’s ingenuity to the world. The move comes as Champion Breweries Plc expands its product line, introducing canned beverages to improve distribution and accessibility.

ImoAbasi Jacob, Chairman of Champion Breweries’ Board of Directors, expressed gratitude for the governor’s leadership and support, which he credited with enabling the shift to canned production. He explained, “Champion Lager has been a market favorite since the 1970s but was previously limited by distribution challenges, as it was only available in bottles. The introduction of cans is a game-changer, allowing us to reach more customers across Nigeria.”

Jacob also highlighted past struggles, including logistical challenges and competition from rival companies. He celebrated the brewery’s resilience and innovation, attributing the milestone to the dedication of the management team and the business-friendly policies of Governor Eno’s administration.
