Anxiety as UNN Dean and Others Abducted by Kidnappers on Ugwuogo-Opi-Nsukka Road

According to reports from DAILY POST, this abduction is part of a series of kidnappings that have occurred along this road over the past week.A social media influencer, Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, shared news of the abduction on his Facebook page, writing, “Professor Oguejiofo T. Ujam was kidnapped yesterday morning on the Ugwuogo-Nike-Opi-Nsukka road.

He is a lecturer in the Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry and also serves as the Dean, School of General Studies, University of Nigeria Nsukka. Please keep him in your prayers for a safe and unharmed return.”Additionally, a lecturer who wished to remain anonymous confirmed to a correspondent that the incident was shared on the WhatsApp platform of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), UNN chapter.

The message read, “Prof. Oguejiofor Ujam, the Dean of GS, was kidnapped this morning along the Opi-Enugu Road. We urgently need help.”There is growing concern over the frequency of kidnappings along the Ugwuogo-Opi-Nsukka Road, despite the police and military checkpoints set up along this route.

The kidnappers are reported to have targeted other travelers on the same road daily over the past week.DAILY POST reached out to DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Enugu State Police Command, for comments, but he has not yet responded.
