In a video shared by VOICE TV Nigeria, the bandit leader detailed how arms, including AK-47 rifles and RPGs, are smuggled into Nigeria and delivered to bandits hidden inside trucks loaded with goods.

“We don’t get these weapons by ourselves. There are people, rich people, who supply us with guns and money. They bring the weapons in trucks, hidden under goods, and deliver them to us in the forest,” he revealed.

Beyond supplying weapons, the kingpin explained that these powerful figures play a direct role in orchestrating attacks, coordinating movements, and spreading fear to advance their own interests. Bandits are often used as pawns, carrying out attacks in exchange for financial support and protection.

One of the most alarming aspects of the operation is the flow of ransom money. The captured bandit disclosed that when victims are kidnapped for ransom, the money is not kept entirely by the perpetrators but is shared with their wealthy backers. This arrangement strengthens their grip on the criminal network and ensures the cycle of violence continues.

In response to these revelations, security agencies have intensified investigations to track down the sponsors and dismantle the networks fueling insecurity. A senior security official confirmed that authorities are actively pursuing the leads provided by the captured suspect.
