He explained that one major difficulty is the lack of clarity on how the terrorists are being funded to sustain their operations.

General Musa noted that the mindset of Boko Haram members complicates the fight, as they are indoctrinated to believe they have nothing to lose.

He stated, “We are dealing with individuals who believe they are right, and we are wrong. They think killing us will bring them blessings, and if we kill them, they will go to heaven.

This makes the fight extremely challenging, as their beliefs give them a sense of invincibility. Moreover, it’s not something you can identify by just looking at them.”

He further emphasized the contrast between the military and the terrorists in adhering to rules of engagement. “We operate under international laws, while Boko Haram disregards these laws. They use human shields and hide among civilians, making it difficult for us to act without causing collateral damage,” he explained.
