In his sermon, he recounted a moment from his Bible school days when he asked a young lady to marry him, only to be met with a shocking response.

He revealed that the lady laughed at him and replied, “You? You? You never feed yourself, and you say I should marry you?” The pastor admitted feeling “cold” and “very cold” from the rejection. This candid story resonated with the audience, as Ibiyeomie illustrated how rejection can sometimes sting, even when one has sincere intentions.

The pastor further explained that rejection is a part of life. “Has anybody told you ‘no’ before?” he asked, referencing moments when people approach others with great expectations only to be turned down. He spoke of the vulnerability one feels after sharing everything, only to hear the words, “No money,” leaving them questioning why they even shared their dreams in the first place.

However, Pastor Ibiyeomie also used the story as a lesson about vision. He emphasized that visionaries don’t merely “look” at their circumstances; they “see” a brighter future. Drawing from the Bible, he reminded the congregation of God’s question to Jeremiah, “What seest thou?”

He concluded by urging the audience to have a clear vision of what they want in life, as vision is crucial for avoiding confusion and dissatisfaction.
