Former President Buhari Denies Ownership of Revoked Abuja Land, Clarifies Foundation’s Role

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has refuted claims linking him to a recently revoked plot of land in Abuja. Shehu explained that the foundation lawfully acquired the land but faced challenges due to an unusually high bill issued by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) for the certificate of occupancy. The revocation, he noted, was not unexpected.

Highlighting Buhari’s stance on personal land ownership, Shehu recalled how the former president declined to apply for land in Abuja during his tenure, stating that he already owned a plot and preferred that others benefit instead.

Shehu criticized those spreading false information about the land issue, urging for factual accuracy and an end to baseless controversies surrounding Buhari. He concluded by reaffirming Buhari’s integrity and selflessness in public service.
