Gloria Sunday Opens Up About Domestic Abuse And Betrayal

In a heartbreaking video shared on Brekete Family TV, Gloria Sunday recounted the traumatic abuse and abandonment she faced from her husband, Daniel, leading to the loss of one of her eyes....CONTINUE READING>>>

Gloria’s ordeal began when her husband openly announced his intention to leave her for another woman. Desperate for help, she turned to her pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), confiding in him about her struggles and her husband’s behavior. Despite the pastor’s efforts to mediate by contacting Daniel, the latter refused to respond to calls. The pastor, however, reassured Gloria and even offered financial support for their daughter Destiny’s education, especially when Daniel refused to contribute. Occasionally, Daniel’s sister, who later turned against Gloria, also helped with school fees.

Things took a turn for the worse when the pastor retired and moved to London. Soon after, when Destiny was in Primary 4, Daniel officially moved out to live with his new wife.

One evening, Gloria, still reeling from the emotional toll, stepped out of the bathroom and pleaded with Daniel for financial support. Instead of responding, he pushed her. Desperate, Gloria knelt down to beg, but Daniel responded with violence, striking her and causing her to fall and hit her eye on a stone. This injury resulted in the loss of one of her eyes.

Gloria shared her painful experience, stating:
“After my husband told me he has seen another woman outside, one day, I approached my pastor in RCCG and told him about my problems. The pastor called Daniel, but he refused to come. Despite several calls, he ignored them. The pastor then assured me that he would stand by me and that I should not be afraid. If Daniel refused to pay school fees, the pastor would help. Sometimes, Daniel’s sister—who is now fighting me—also sent money for Destiny’s school fees.”

“Later, the pastor retired and relocated to London. When Destiny was in Primary 4, Daniel told me he wanted to leave and move in with his new wife. I was just coming out of the bathroom one evening, tying a wrapper, when I pleaded with him to support us financially. Instead of responding, he pushed me. I knelt before him, still begging, but he hit me, and I fell, hitting my eye on a stone. That was how I lost one of my eyes.”
