High-Profile Wedding in Kano: Obasanjo, Atiku, and Others Attend Kwankwaso’s Daughter’s Wedding

Saturday, November 16, 2024, was a day of celebration in Kano as prominent personalities gathered for the wedding of Dr. Aishatu Kwankwaso, daughter of Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Fahad, son of Alhaji Dahiru Mangal. According to reports, Vice President Kashim Shettima stated that he was honored to attend the wedding, saying, “I am delighted to be part of this joyous occasion”. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo also expressed his well-wishes to the couple, saying, “May their union be blessed with love, peace, and prosperity.”

Other notable guests in attendance included former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who remarked, “This is a wonderful occasion, and I am thrilled to see the couple happy”. Former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, also congratulated the couple, saying, “May their love continue to grow stronger with each passing day.”

Additionally, former governors Ahmed Makarfi (Kaduna), Lucky Igbinedion (Edo), Mahamud Shinkafi (Zamfara), Isah Yuguda (Bauchi), Victor Attah (Akwa Ibom), and Chief Achike Udenwa (Imo) were also present. Former Senator Dino Melaye and Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, Chief Security Officer of the late former Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, also attended the event.

The groom, Fahad, paid a dowry of N1 million to seal the union, as reported by sources. The wedding was conducted in accordance with Islamic traditions, and the palace of the 16th Emir of Kano provided a majestic backdrop for the ceremony.
