This is the apex of the Igbo body’s description of bogus posts spreading on social media, alleging the Lagos State Government’s plan to adopt actions to victimize Igbo nationals living in Lagos.

Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, who has voiced concern about the ongoing challenges in Lagos, has stated that he will visit the South West state next week to see that the problems are rectified.

However, he urged the Lake State Environment and Development Authority to exercise caution and do its best in the discharge of its duties.According to a statement issued by the organization’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Alex Ogbonnia, the PG is highly optimistic that all of the concerns confronting the Igbos of Lagos will be resolved during the visit.

“We have been conducting investigations since this alarming news broke,” Ogbonnia stated, “to ascertain the true state of affairs.” Hon. Comrade Chinedu Ukatu, a member of the Lagos State Market Advisory Council and the Chairman of the Ndigbo-Amaka Progressive Marketing Association in Lagos, is one of the reputable sources. The state department of environment and development has issued a warning about the obstruction of some rivers.”

According to Ukatu, “everything that happened in Alaba and the urgent visit by government officials were directly related to those who obstructed the free movement of water on the island on the designated waterways. Ukatu went on to say that the regulation does not apply to the squares and shops in the markets or along the torii road.”
