Integrity and Faith: ACP Daniel Amah Converts to Islam After Rejecting $200,000 Bribe

During the ceremony, the Emir welcomed Amah into the Islamic community, emphasizing the importance of knowledge and adherence to the five pillars of Islam—belief in Allah, daily prayers, fasting during Ramadan, pilgrimage to Mecca, and charitable giving. The Emir also prayed for Amah to become a distinguished Muslim.

As reported, the Emir advised Amah to maintain good character, respect, and obedience, especially towards his parents, regardless of their religious beliefs, highlighting the value of familial bonds across faiths.

Amah gained national recognition in April 2022 while serving as the Divisional Police Officer in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State. He rejected a significant bribe from armed robbery suspects involved in a heist that netted over N300 million. The suspects had targeted a Bureau De Change operator with $750,000 in cash.

In recognition of his exemplary conduct, Amah was promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police by the Police Service Commission in November 2022. He was also honored with the Public Service Integrity Award by former President Muhammadu Buhari, following a recommendation from the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
