Just In: Man Arrested for Threatening to Kill Igbos on Twitter

A 28-year-old man identified as Kehinde Adesogba Adekusibe has been arrested by the Osun State Police Command for tweeting ‘Let’s kill all the Igbos’ on the 18th of May 2023. Continue Full Reading>>>...CONTINUE READING>>>

Mr. Kehinde took to his social media to call for the killing of the Igbos,  a post which was deleted afterward after the tweet went viral and was reported to the Nigeria Police.

Sharing the news on social media, the Spokesperson to the Nigeria Police Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi revealed that a detective from the Cybercrime section at SCID Osogbo swung into action after the report was received.

The statement reads, “OSUN POLICE ARRESTS SOCIAL MEDIA USER WHO TWEETED ‘LET’S KILL ALL THE IGBOS’
Today 15th June 2023, the Osun Police Command has arrested one Kehinde Adesogba Adekusibe ‘m’ 28 years who violated the social media policy on hate speech. Continue Full Reading>>>

It could be recalled that, on 18th May 2023, the suspect, Kehinde Adekusibe, on his tweeter handle, tweeted, “Let’s kill all the Igbos Let’s flush them out of Yoruba lands. I hate these people with a passion. They are violent people. They a the worst. They hate us.

Let’s hate them without holding back. ” Immediately, the Police Command received the report, Police detective from the Cybercrime section at SCID Osogbo swung into action, and through intelligence-led investigation, the suspect was arrested at Ilesa where he hibernated.

The suspect has confessed to the crime, and he will be charged to the court after the completion of the investigation.’

DSP Adejobi assured that criminals have no hiding place in the country as the force will ensure that they face the consequences of their actions.

‘We have done what is needed on this matter. It can only take some time, every offense committed leaves a trace, and culprits will surely face d music.
