Weather Outlook for the North and North Central
NiMet anticipates dusty conditions in the North and North Central regions throughout the forecast period, with visibility ranging from 1 to 5 kilometers. In some areas, localized visibility may drop below 1 kilometer.

Weather Conditions in the South
In the southern region, hazy weather with scattered clouds is expected during the day. Early mornings may see mist or fog patches, particularly in coastal areas.

  • Monday: Dust haze will dominate the North and North Central regions, while the South will experience hazy conditions with patches of clouds.
  • Tuesday: The North and North Central areas will continue with dusty conditions and reduced visibility. Coastal regions in the South may experience early morning fog or mist, followed by sunny skies with scattered clouds later in the day.
  • Wednesday: The northern region will have improved visibility but remain dusty. The North Central zone will experience moderate dust haze. In the South, mist or fog is likely in the morning over coastal regions, with hazy skies expected inland. Isolated thunderstorms may develop later in parts of Cross River, Bayelsa, Lagos, and Akwa Ibom.

Health and Safety Advisory
NiMet has advised individuals, particularly those with respiratory conditions like asthma, to take precautions due to the dusty conditions. It also urged airline operators to obtain localized weather reports from NiMet for safe and efficient flight planning.
