Onikijipa Family Urges Ilorin Emirate To Address Al-Ilory’s Attacks On Mufty

The Onikijipa family has called on the Ilorin Emirate to intervene and address the ongoing attacks by Sheikh Habibullahi Adam Al-Ilory, the Mudirul of the Markaz Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies in Agege, Lagos. In a public statement issued on Sunday in Ilorin, Abdulrahman Suyuti Onikijipa, representing the Magaji Onikijipa compound, denied claims made by Al-Ilory that Sheikh Suleiman Faruq’s father was not part of the Onikijipa family. The family called Al-Ilory’s assertions false and malicious, intended to sow discord within the Onikijipa lineage. They emphasized that the Onikijipa family is united and indivisible, rejecting any notion of division or illegitimacy within their ranks.

The statement refuted a prior claim by Al-Ilory, in which he alleged that only Alfa Alabi Onikijipa was the “original” Onikijipa. The family clarified that both Alfa Alabi and Alfa Faruq Onikijipa are brothers, part of the same family. They also criticized Al-Ilory’s assertion that households outside the main Onikijipa compound in Ilorin were not part of the Onikijipa family, calling it an illogical theory.

The Onikijipa family also addressed Al-Ilory’s claim that the Mufty of Ilorin, Sheikh Suleiman Faruq, was angry with Al-Ilory’s father, Sheikh Adam Abdullahi Al-Ilory, for failing to mention Sheikh Faruq’s father in his book. The family called this allegation a “lie from the pit of hell,” demanding Al-Ilory to provide evidence for such a statement.

The statement expressed disappointment in Al-Ilory’s continued attacks and urged the Ilorin Emirate to call him to order, warning that such behavior risks further disunity. The Onikijipa family stressed their commitment to maintaining their unity and respect, despite the challenges posed by Al-Ilory’s actions.

In conclusion, the family reiterated that they are a strong, united group and will not be divided by Al-Ilory’s attempts to cause division. They also expressed the need for stakeholders from the Ilorin Emirate to intervene and ensure that Al-Ilory refrains from further spreading misinformation.
