Peter Obi Speaks After Presenting Witness Against Tinubu In Court

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, has stated his faith in the legal system to uphold justice in the lawsuit contesting the results of the election on February 25th. CONTINUE READING>>>

Obi finished third in the election results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), it should be recalled.

The former governor of Anambra State, however, disagreed with the results and went to court to defend his “stolen mandate”. In court on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu, the election winner, was the target of the first witness that Obi and the Labour Party had called.

Shortly after the court session, Obi reaffirmed his commitment to using all available legal options to have the electoral process resolved in his favor through the courts. He made this statement via his Twitter account. CONTINUE READING>>>

He also urged his followers to uphold peace and continue to be dedicated to the idea of a new Nigeria. “The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) resumed sitting today,” he wrote. Along with members of LP and the Obidients family, Datti Baba-Ahmed and I were in the audience in court.

“I have insisted that upholding the law strictly in our effort to break the electoral deadlock remains sacred. We must place a high value on the judiciary because it is an essential component of our democratic system and a tool for effective governance.

I kindly request that everyone in Nigeria continue to support the idea of a New Nigeria as we proceed through the legal system. Nigeria still belongs to us all, and we must work together to make sacrifices for its improvement.
