Police Expose Man’s Abuse of Physically Challenged Girl After Locking Her Inside

According to SP Edafe Bright, the police spokesperson, the suspect is accused of luring the vulnerable victim into his home, where the alleged act took place. “He deceived this girl, took her into his house, locked her inside, and forcefully sleep with her,” Bright stated during the interrogation of the suspect.

The nature of the crime has raised significant concern due to the victim’s physical challenges, highlighting her need for protection and care. SP Bright emphasized the gravity of the situation, noting, “She’s someone that needs a guardian, someone that needs assistance.”

During police questioning, Elijah claimed he did not know the age of the victim. However, Bright quickly dismissed this defense, asserting that ignorance of the victim’s age cannot absolve him of responsibility. “Whether she agrees or not is immaterial, she has not gotten to that age where she can decide for herself,” he clarified.

Elijah, originally from Adjara in the Isoko region, provided a statement suggesting that he had called out to two individuals passing by before the victim returned alone. As a result of this alleged crime, the suspect is expected to face serious charges of defilement in court.

SP Bright reiterated the legal stance on such offenses, stating, “The offence of assault is very clear. If the victim is not old enough to give consent, any claim of consent is irrelevant and will be treated as defilement.” The police have already forwarded the case to the courts for further legal action.
