Businessman and prominent Arogbo Ijaw leader, High Chief Bipopere Ajube aka Shoot-at -Sight has described recent allegations that he invaded the Ondo office of Tantita Security, destroyed vehicles while threatening to kill one Chief Idowu Asonja, the commander of the outfit as well orchestrated lies designed to gain cheap publicity.
Ajube said this through his lawyer, Olusola Oke & Co while reacting to the claims made recently in a publication authored by a Lagos lawyer and published on a popular online platform on behalf of Asonja.
Ajube, the Beleukoriwei of Arogbo Ijaw Kingdom declared that as a successful businessman and leader in Ondo State, there was no way he will be involved in efforts to jeopardize the peace of the state as being wickedly insinuated by Chief Asonja and his sponsors.
While faulting the allegations, Ajube, challenged Asonja to forward details of alleged attack on the Ondo office of Tantita as well as the threats against him to security operatives for investigation, instead of embarking on media propaganda.
He also challenged Asonja to come up with the details of how , when and where the threat to kill him and wipe out Tantita Security firm from Ondo State which he described as an “unproven hallucination,” was made.
While querying inability of a company engaged by government to protect itself, the businessman wondered if the false alarm was not part of the plot to ensure that the contract continue to subsist.
“What specific overtures were made? Where and when were the overtures made? Given the seriousness of the allegations it’s our take that speaking in parables will not be enough. Let the world know who did what so that Government will know who to hold responsible?, Ajube challenged Asonja and his lawyer.
Chief Ajube who also flatly denied the claim that he led soldiers to ransack the office of Tantita in Agadagba town however asked security operatives to pay attention to Asonja over his warning that the peace in Ondo State may be ruptured.
“This is a veiled threat to rapture peace in Ondo State. Our client is a peace loving person who has contributed to the socio-political and economic growth of Ondo State. He wants peace. He preaches peace. We therefore use this medium to call on the government and the people of Ondo State and Nigeria at large in the event of rupture of peace in Ondo State, they should look no further than in the way of Chief Idowu Asonja and his Tantita Group,” Ajube said.
Furthermore, he challenged Asonja to release photographs and videos of alleged invasion to help security agencies as he claimed in the media report if his claim is genuine.
On the contrary, Chief Ajube said it was Chief Asonja who called him, rained abuses, curses and yabis on him.
“Chief Asonja also threatened our client and said so many unprintable things to him. At the appropriate time, all records and videos in our client’s possession will be made available to security agencies and the general public,” the lawyer said.
“Our client denies all allegations made against him. He is a responsible peace loving businessman with investments in oil and gas, construction, education and sports. His investments are too massive in Ondo State not to be interested in peace and good governance in the state. Let Tantita Security Services Ltd, the feeble sponsors of Chief Asonja look for another person to call for war. We are for peace,” he said.
