South African musician Tyla earned the award for her hit single Water, showcasing her outstanding musical prowess and making her the recipient of this prestigious honor.

During the electrifying Live red carpet event, Variety snagged an exclusive interview with the incredibly talented Nigerian artist, Blaqbonez. Bursting with enthusiasm, he passionately shared his thoughts on the groundbreaking addition of the new African category at the Grammys. Blaqbonez expressed sheer delight, emphasizing how thrilled he is with this monumental recognition for African music on the global stage. His excitement echoed throughout the interview.
