The group also called on the attention of the incoming President to watch his back and guard against entrenched ‘Judases’ who are bent on pitching him against democracy.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, CNG’s Spokesperson, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman cautioned the President-elect against the antics of vested personal interests.

According to him, “We emphatically call on the leadership of the APC to reclaim its statesmanship by immediately reversing the decision on Akpabio and Abbass, and setting the stage for the emergence of a credible National Assembly leadership through democratic elections by its members as enshrined in our Constitution.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says the Bank Verification Number (BVN) issued in Nigeria remains for life and has no expiry date, as reported by a national newspaper.

Its Acting-Director, Corporate Communications, Alhaji Isa Abdulmumin, said

According to Abdulmumin, the claim is completely false.

He, therefore, bank customers to be guided

The attention of the Central Bank of Nigeria has been drawn to reports suggesting that the Bank Verification Number issued by the Bank in collaboration with the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS) expires after a ten-year period.

Contrary to these claims, we wish to clarify that the BVN issued in Nigeria has no expiry date.

“Once a customer’s biometrics have been captured and enrolled in the database of NIBSS, the BVN remains for life.

“However, the Regulatory Framework for BVN issued by the CBN in 2021 stipulates that customers can only change their records due to certain conditions spelt out in the document and after being cleared by relevant authorities.

Buhari To Review Naval Fleet

The Nigeria Navy said it had invited the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), to review its fleet to honour him for his support to the service.

According to the navy, the event is done to honour the head of government.

The event involves the assemblage of ships and maritime assets at a designated area.

Speaking during an International press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, the Chief of Policy and Plans, Rear Admiral Saidu Garba, said a total of 20 capital ships, 300 Inshore patrol vessels, and assault craft, as well as two locally built ships among others, were launched into the navy’s inventory under Buhari.

He said, “During the eight-year administration of President Buhari, a total of 20 Capital Ships were procured for the Navy. The ships comprise Offshore Patrol Vessels, Landing Ship Transport, Hydrographic Survey Vessels, Seaward Defence Boats, Helicopters, as well as, over 300 Inshore Patrol Vessels and Assault Crafts.

Osun PDP spokesperson Oladele Olabamiji said the Supreme Court upheld the wish and mandate of the Osun electorate.

“We thank God and specially the people for standing by their resolve to elect Senator Adeleke as governor. Elections should be won at the polling units and that is what the Supreme Court has just done to the matter,” he said.
