According to BBC News, Madam Chikazor had traveled to Ihiala for an exam and expected her children to stay home and play. However, as evening approached and they had not returned, she became worried and raised an alarm.

She initially contacted a friend whose children often accompanied hers to church, but they had not attended catechism that day. Her friend also confirmed that the missing children were not at her house.

A concerned neighbor reported seeing two young men near the compound earlier in the day and mentioned that Madam Chikazor’s daughter was last seen going out to buy something.

After a frantic search, the tragic discovery was made—the three children were found inside a freezer within their home.

Samuel Ejezie, the children’s father, explained that when his wife returned from her exam at Our Lady of Lourdes, she expected to be greeted by their children as usual. Instead, she found an eerie silence, with the house open and their shoes scattered outside. The only other resident in the compound at the time was the landlord’s mother, who was reportedly not at home during the incident.

While the grieving parents expressed trust in the nearby nursing students, the circumstances surrounding the deaths remain unclear. It is still unknown how the children ended up in the freezer or if foul play was involved.

The Anambra State Police have confirmed an ongoing investigation into the case.

This tragic event follows a disturbing pattern of child deaths in Anambra. Just weeks ago, three children were found dead inside a parked car in Nise, raising further concerns about child safety in the region.
