Troops apprehend wanted terrorist leader Habu Dogo along with seven IPOB commanders.

Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj-Gen Edward Buba, stated that Habu Dogo is sought after in both Nigeria and Niger Republic due to his involvement in cross-border criminal activities. In a separate operation, troops in the South East apprehended seven leaders and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Among those arrested were Dr. Nnamdi Chukwudoze and Chigozie Ezetoha, also known as Chapet, in Ihiala LGA, Anambra state. Additional arrests included Mrs. Ngozi Chukwuka and Mr. Oyekachi Ohia in Umuahia South LGA, Abia state, as well as Mr. Ifeanyi Eze, Mr. Augustine Udemba, and Mr. Onyedikachi Udemba in Umunneochi LGA, Abia state. Elijah Mmaduipeya Obumneke was arrested in Orsu LGA, Imo state.

General Buba reported that during the recent operations, troops eliminated 187 individuals and detained 262 suspects. Additionally, they arrested 39 people involved in oil theft and rescued 147 kidnapping victims across various regions.In the South South, troops disrupted oil theft operations, preventing losses estimated at over One Billion Two Hundred Fifty-Four Million Naira (N1,254,946,630.00).

They discovered and destroyed numerous illegal oil refining sites, including 49 cooking ovens, 11 dugout pits, 72 boats, and 98 refining sites, along with other equipment such as vehicles and motorcycles. Troops also seized 1,090,135 litres of stolen crude oil and 873,510 litres of illegally refined diesel.Furthermore, troops recovered 205 assorted firearms and over 5,200 rounds of ammunition, detailing the inventory as follows: various types of rifles, pistols, and shotguns, along with a significant quantity of ammunition of different calibers. Additional recoveries included radios, vehicles, motorcycles, and mobile phones.
