Anambra: Non-Indigenous Native Doctors, Ezenwanyis Ordered to Leave Orumba South

This directive, announced in a press statement released on Tuesday, aligns with the Anambra State Homeland Security Law recently enacted by the state government.

“All native doctors and Ezenwanyis who are not indigenes of Orumba South LGA should by this notice vacate the LGA within the next seven days from the date of this notice,” stated Hon. Azubuike.

He further warned that those affected must either leave the council area or completely cease their practices to avoid any repercussions.

Additionally, indigenous practitioners are required to undergo profiling and documentation starting from Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the LGA Secretariat. This process will be conducted over seven days.

The mayor also directed native doctors and Ezenwanyis involved in practices such as Okeite, Okeawele, ibubo, and other wealth-related charms to vacate the area within the specified timeframe. Those engaged in fortification and protective charms for harmful purposes are similarly ordered to leave.

Hon. Azubuike stressed that anyone found violating the directive after the deadline would face legal consequences.

Traditional rulers, community leaders, village heads, and the general public have been urged to cooperate by providing useful information to support the enforcement of this order.
