In a message posted on X after the Rivers State local government elections, Atiku proclaimed that the era of political manipulation and coercion in the state has come to an end.He emphasized that the people of Rivers have embraced democratic values and refused to be swayed by undue political influence.

Congratulating the newly elected local government officials, Atiku highlighted that the election results clearly show that the people are tired of leaders who prioritize their own interests over the well-being of the citizens.”The people have spoken with a united voice, proving that nothing strengthens democracy more,” Atiku stated.He also expressed admiration for the resilience of the voters, who ensured the elections were peaceful and free from major disturbances, despite potential provocations.Although Atiku did not mention Wike by name, his comments seemed directed at the former governor, who has been accused of attempting to retain political control in the state.
