In the state’s five Local Government Areas (LGAs), namely Katsina Kaita, Katsina Musawa, Katsina Chiranchi, Ingawa, and Kurfi, Tinubu won the election. In the Katsina Kaita Local Government Area (LGA), Tinubu received 14,595 votes, beating out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, who received 11,793 votes. The Labour Party (LP) candidate received just 22 votes, while the National Rescue Movement (NNPP) candidate received 799.

In the same manner, Tinubu won the Katsina Musawa LGA election with 14,360 votes, defeating the PDP candidate, who received 10,603 votes, while the NNPP and LP candidates polled 2,033 and 11 votes, respectively.
Tinubu got 12,779 votes in the Katsina Chiranchi LGA, compared to 8,202 for the PDP candidate. With 609 votes, the NNPP nominee finished third, while the LP candidate received just 10 votes. In the Ingawa LGA, Tinubu received 12,315 votes, beating out the PDP nominee, who received 12,152. 3,388 votes were cast for the NNPP candidate, while 47 were cast for the LP candidate.

The PDP candidate received 15,747 votes, followed by the NNPP and LP candidates with 1,036 and 16 votes, respectively, in Kurfi LGA, where Tinubu ultimately won with 19,139 votes.
Since President Muhammadu Buhari, who is regarded as the most powerful politician in the state, is from Katsina State, Tinubu’s win there is seen as a major boost to his presidential campaign.
