It has been gathered that the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is planning to have the senate presidency zoned to the South-East as a way of calming frayed nerves across the country and reuniting the people.

A source who spoke to Vanguard said that Tinubu wants to ensure that every region is carried along in his government irrespective of their political inclinations. The source who is said to be a long-standing associate of Tinubu also disclosed that there would be no lopsidedness or discrimination in Tinubu’s cabinet.

According to the report by Vanguard, the source said – “For balance of power, our President-elect understands that to have a rancour-free administration, every region must be carried along and the South-East is very paramount to him.

He has informed us of his commitment to support the emergence of a Senate President from the South-East for the sake of equity, fairness and justice, thus maintaining the balance of power and a sense of inclusion.”

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is scheduled to have a closed-door meeting with Tinubu, his running mate, Kashim Shettima, and the Senators and members of the House of Representatives who were elected under the platform of the party, and it is said that this is one of the agenda that will be discussed in the meeting.
