BREAKING: Ugwuanyi and Ikpeazu didn’t title their candidate but, they selected Atiku on the eleventh hour-PDP Source
According to a news that was published by the Punch paper online this morning, it was reported that a source in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, has revealed the presidential candidate Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, supported before the presidential election was conducted....CONTINUE READING>>>
While the source was reacting to the duo’s defeat at the senatorial polls, he said that the two governors did not openly endorse their candidate, but, they later supported the presidential candidate of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
He said, “Ugwuanyi and Ikpeazu did not name their candidate but, they chose Atiku at the 11th hour, even as pundits argue that the duo simply faced their own election and allowed voters to make up their minds on who to vote for in the presidential election.”
He said that as it were, incumbency is fast losing its potency as a determinant of victory in the nation’s political system and that is why Ben Ayade, who happens to be the outgoing Governor of Cross River State, lost his senatorial ambition even as the quest of Darius Ishaku, his Taraba State counterpart, to head for the Red chamber was similarly thwarted by the opposition party in the state.
