The APC leadership has firmly dismissed these rumors, clarifying that there is no conflict between the two figures or any other potential aspirants within the party. They emphasized that such claims were baseless and part of a deliberate attempt to create division ahead of future elections.
Seye Oladejo, the APC’s Publicity Secretary in Lagos, spoke toDaily Trustto attribute the unfounded rumors to opposition groups trying to stir controversy. He underscored that the APC’s primary focus remains on good governance, with an emphasis on the upcoming 2025 local government elections, rather than engaging in unnecessary political drama.
“The party has not made any pronouncements about the 2027 governorship race at this time. Our priority is impactful governance, not engaging in divisive politicking that only seeks to heat up the political environment,” Oladejo stated.
He further dismissed suggestions of discord between Seyi Tinubu and Speaker Obasa, stating that the rumors were being propagated by opposition forces aiming to exploit the situation for political leverage. He reiterated that the APC remains united and committed to progress.
On the topic of alleged endorsements for Seyi Tinubu, Oladejo described them as external attempts to create tension within the party, warning that the focus should be on unity and collective advancement rather than fueling internal conflict.

In a related development, the Lagos State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Philip Aivoji, also dismissed any involvement in the rumors, distancing his party from the ongoing speculation. “Anyone who is pushing such allegations is acting independently,” Aivoji said, underscoring his party’s non-involvement in the matter.
