In a viral video shared by Channels TV on X, Idahosa claimed that Senate President Godswill Akpabio had already decided to suspend Akpoti long before the official announcement.
According to him, the decision was made during an earlier seating arrangement dispute. He recalled that on the day Akpoti was insisting on Order 10, he overheard Akpabio instructing someone to “prepare her for suspension.”
“If you watch the proceedings on that day, as the senator (Natasha) was shouting ‘Order 10,’ I heard the presiding officer (Akpabio) saying, ‘prepare her for suspension.’ Review the tape. We have seen it. They were already preparing her for suspension. It was predetermined,” Idahosa stated.
The lawyer urged Nigerians to revisit the footage, insisting that the suspension was not a spontaneous disciplinary action but a calculated move.
Akpoti was suspended for six months over alleged violations of Senate rules, a decision that has sparked controversy and debates over fairness and political maneuvering within the National Assembly.
