Ned Nwoko: Obi’s petition in opposition to Tinubu, effort in futility

Ned Nwoko, a Nigerian billionaire and former member of the House of Representatives, has dismissed the petition filed by a former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, in opposition to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a popular politician and former governor of Lagos State. Nwoko, in a press release launched on his social media page, referred to Obi’s petition as an “effort in futility.”

Obi, who is also a former vice-presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), had submitted a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), alleging that Tinubu’s assets were acquired through corruption and money laundering. The EFCC had subsequently invited Tinubu for questioning.

However, Nwoko believes that the petition is politically motivated and lacks substance. He urged the EFCC to disregard the allegations and focus on more pressing issues. Nwoko also called for unity and urged politicians to work towards the betterment of Nigeria rather than engage in petty politics.

In conclusion, while Obi’s petition against Tinubu may have generated some controversy, Nwoko’s comments reflect a broader sentiment that such actions are unlikely to yield any meaningful results in Nigeria’s political landscape. CONTINUE READING…
