In response to this, Honorable Yakubu Dogara took to Twitter to assert that electoral fraud triggers crises of legitimacy and that it must be addressed immediately. He warned that failure to do so could result in Nigerians having to endure prolonged struggles within a troubled democracy.

Obasanjo’s statement was made in a recent publication by Channels Television, where he claimed that fraud had infiltrated the electoral body, resulting in the release of unauthentic and doctored election results.

While acknowledging the looming challenges, Obasanjo urged Nigerians to remain calm and steadfast, calling on President Muhammadu Buhari and the INEC Chairman to ensure that the votes of the Nigerian people are counted.

Furthermore, Obasanjo warned that unless INEC acted justly, problems would continue to mount, which could lead to Nigeria being set ablaze. It is evident from Dogara’s response that the issue of electoral fraud is a cause for concern and must be addressed promptly to ensure the stability of democracy in Nigeria.
