This was followed by Senator Tahir Monguno, who inaugurated the reconstruction of the college, which includes nine classroom blocks and four boarding houses, as well as the unveiling of 5,000 digital learning devices.Additionally, the anniversary featured the inauguration of the rebuilt Ihima Police Station, officiated by Kogi State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Betrand Onuoha.

Senator Abba Moro also launched an empowerment program during the event.The Deputy Senate President, represented by Senator Ladan, praised Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s first year, highlighting her effective representation and commitment to improving the lives of her constituents. He noted her family’s history of humanitarian work as a driving force behind her initiatives.

Senator Tahir Monguno emphasized the critical role of education in national development, commending Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan for her efforts to digitize learning in Kogi Central. Senator Abba Moro also lauded her legacy projects and exceptional performance during her first year.Reflecting on her tenure, Senator Natasha described it as fulfilling yet challenging, noting that many campaign promises had been realized. She reaffirmed her dedication to creating a prosperous district where every child can learn and families can access essential services.Key to her vision is the digitalization of education, with 5,000 digital learning devices distributed to public schools.

A Universal Basic Education Learning Resource Centre will soon train teachers and equip these devices with the national curriculum.Senator Natasha also plans significant upgrades to schools, including the Abdul Aziz Attah Memorial College, and the construction of new educational facilities and vocational training centers aimed at enhancing local education and employment opportunities.Her foundation has provided scholarships for 353 vulnerable students, and she has worked to create job opportunities and training programs for thousands in the district.

A new empowerment initiative will support over 1,300 artisans, particularly women and youth, with training and startup grants.Addressing basic needs, she highlighted successful water projects that provide clean drinking water to numerous communities, including a solar-powered system serving 300 locations. Additionally, street lighting projects have improved safety across 30 kilometers of roads.

Senator Natasha also facilitated the reconstruction of the Ihima Police Station, which had been closed for seven years, and is working on rehabilitating two primary healthcare facilities, with construction set to begin soon.Upcoming medical outreach programs are planned, and she has sponsored various bills aimed at boosting the industrial capacity of Kogi Central and creating jobs. She expressed gratitude for the collaboration with key political leaders to enhance the region’s resources and infrastructure.In closing, she acknowledged the continued partnership with the President and Senate leadership, emphasizing her commitment to progress and improvement for her constituents, thanking them for their support.
