Amid the ongoing debates, former Senator Shehu Sani has pointed out that some Nigerians could provide even more revealing insights about the event but have chosen to remain silent. In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Sani suggested that figures like Col. Abubakar Dangiwa Umar, former Jigawa State Governor Alhaji Sule Lamido, and Col. Lawan Gwadabe could shake the political landscape if they documented their experiences. He boldly stated, “They will scatter the table.”

Additionally, Sani named three individuals—Gen. Aliyu Gusau, former Minister of Defence; Samaila Gwarzo; and current National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu—who possess deep knowledge of Nigeria’s political past but are unlikely to share their accounts.

Babangida’s revelation in his book that MKO Abiola won the June 12 election has further fueled controversy, with many Nigerians accusing him of presenting a biased and selective version of history.
