"They are employing legal tactics to divert our attention; they know they can't come to Rivers," says Chijioke Ihunwo.

Ihunwo accused Wike of losing his influence over the people, making it hard for his opposition to gain traction in Rivers State. He also alleged that Wike has been using his perceived influence over the judiciary and employing elders to organize protests aimed at disrupting local governance.

Highlighting the solidarity of the local population, Ihunwo stated that Rivers State residents stand firmly behind his administration. “We have full control over our local government, and they’ve lost the support of the people,” Ihunwo asserted. “Their court tactics are distractions, but they don’t have the numbers to push it through. They can’t come to Rivers, and they know it. The same person claiming authority over the judiciary is orchestrating these protests using elders. But the people of Rivers are fully with us.”

Ihunwo’s remarks indicate his assurance in local backing and his dedication to protecting the interests of the residents from any external disruptions.
